The Merger of Recaro and Storchenmühle in 2004 – the birth of HGK-International.
Recaro GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures premium driver’s seats, employing more than 550 employees world-wide. Storchenmühle GmbH & Co. KG develops and manufactures car seats for children and equipment in the field of child security, employing more than 100 employees.
In the course of the merger, the operative business of Storchenmühle was outsourced and inserted into the company Recaro. The remaining company Storchenmühle was renamed to HGK-International and its head office relocated to Aichelberg. HGK International held a ten percent share in the Recaro group until this was sold to the Recaro GmbH & Co. KG in 2011. As a result the new company emerged, known today as the HGK Global GmbH.
